Eva Gore-Booth exhibition opened by Ms Sabina Higgins for Lá Fhéile Bríde / St Brigids Day 2020
It’s a great pleasure to share this photo gallery from the opening of “Eva Gore-Booth - 93 Women artists respond to her life and work.
The exhibition was officially opened by Ms Sabina Higgins in the wonderful new Museum of Literature Ireland, in what was a signature event for the Lá Fhéile Bríde / St Brigid’s Day Celebration of Women and Creativity, here in Ireland. This annual celebration, now in it’s third year, is an initiative of Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and it is promoted through Ireland’s embassies and consular missions around the world.
We offer sincere thanks to Ms Higgins for delivering such an informative and profoundly moving tribute to the astonishing life and legacy of Eva Gore-Booth, as her opening address. Thanks also to Simon O’Connor the Director of MoLI and all at the Museum of Literature for their partnership, welcome and inclusion of this project in their wonderful programme of events. Our gratitude to Niall Burgess, Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to Ann Derwin and Anne Norton at DFAT for their support, guidance and partnership in realising the exhibition.
Last year 90 women artists contributed to our Lá Fhéile / St Brigid s Day invited artists exhibition which was hosted at 12 Star Gallery in London. That exhibition was themed on the poetry of the late Leland Bardwell.
