Hamilton Gallery, Sligo and Spanish Armada Ireland are hosting the first international Spanish Armada inspired visual art exhibition featuring artists from Spain, Norway, the UK and Ireland. Aideen Connolly, Medbh Gillard, Martina Hamilton, Lisa Gingles, Unni Mona Kristoffersen, Xavi Muñoz and Emma Stroude, along with poets Winifred McNulty, Seamus Connolly and Malcolm Hamilton, have been exchanging ideas and creating work reflecting the connections between their countries through the Armada narrative.

a 21 minute film by Xavi Muñoz created in 2005, themed on the journey of Francisco De Cúellar will be shown on loop as part of this exhibition.
Hamilton Gallery and Spanish Armada Ireland host the first international Spanish Armada inspired visual art exhibition featuring artists from Spain, Norway, the UK and Ireland, reflecting the connections between their countries through the Armada narrative.
Contributing artists to the exhibition will be present on Culture Night to speak about their work for this exhibition. There will also be readings of poetry by Seamus Connolly, Winifred McNulty and Malcolm Hamilton, contributing writers to the exhibition.
