'A lonely impulse of delight' was an exhibition of fine art prints created by SO Fine Art Editions to celebrate Yeats2015. The association between Cuala Press and WB Yeats was crucial to how printmaking subsequently developed in Ireland. This exhibition celebrated that visual-literary link by bringing some of Ireland’s foremost printmakers and painters together with some of our most renowned writers.
Each artist responded to a piece of Yeats’ poetry by making an image or with written text. Among the participating artists and writers were Donald Teskey, Hughie O’Donoghue, Richard Gorman, John Banville and Paul Muldoon.
The main purpose of this project was to bring WB Yeats to contemporary audiences through the work of living artists and writers.
