"A Swede in Ireland for almost 20 years I often reflect upon the choices we make and the gift of creativity and direction I have been trusted with, that is bigger than me. Over the years my ‘Swedish’ and ‘Irish’ paintings have merged - the colour tones are no longer as different as they once were, the emotions of longing and belonging entwined. ‘Interlaced’ is a collection of work portraying this weave of sentiments - the comforting calm of light and shade, the beauty of bright blues and solid white buildings, the nurturing hues of Irish country lanes mixed with undertones of a much darker sense of drifting restlessness. - Petra Berntsson

Cora O'Brien

I work within the traditional genres of landscape both urban and rural, portraiture and still life, experimenting with composition light and colour. More recently my work focuses on my response to landscape, elements of farming and observation of the marts, the Mayo/Sligo livestock mart in particular. I am fascinated by the sheer bulk and shapes of the cattle, the atmospheric conditions of the interior, provided by light from skylights and partly open doorways, reflections on wet floor surfaces, the myriad of patterns and range of colours, all provide an exciting subject matter. - Cora O'Brien.

Michael Wann

Backwaters is an exhibition of new drawings from RHA award-winning artist Michael Wann. This new body of work explores the quieter environs where land and water converge. Michael Wann has held many solo exhibitions. His work forms part of private and public collections including the Boyle Civic Collection, the OPW, AXA Insurance and the Ballinglen Archive.
