June 3rd - June 24th 2023
This series of works began when I was awarded a residency in the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris in 2017. There I spent much of the time in the Musée Cernuschi making drawings and looking at the funeral/animal sculpture. This in turn informed my present practice of obsession with heads. These most recent works of the raven and the human are about two entities coming together as elements both occupying different worlds.
The Raven pieces should not be viewed as the Raven overwhelming the human form, rather they can be construed as symbiosis of man and animal. Ravens are harbingers of Knowledge, of death and transformation. They are portals into another place
