Hamilton Gallery is delighted to introduce you to the following programme of Solo exhibitions in 2019. The gallery is delighted to welcome Ruth O’Donnell, Cléa van der Grijn, Gráinne Cuffe, Jane Murtagh, Tina Brooks, Páraic McGloughlin, Breda Burns, Ian Wieczorek, Cathy Carman, Patric Cashin and Brian Smyth
This programme will be complimented by our 6th annual invited artists exhibition themed around a major poetic work by W B Yeats, and tying in with the nationwide Decade of Commemoration which marks the emergence of Ireland as an independent nation 100 years ago. The exhibition this year fittingly will be themed on Yeats’ poem "Nineteen Hundred and Nineteen” which wrestles with global social, political and cultural issues Ireland faced in the aftermath of the Great War and as the War of Independence took hold around the country. This exhibition will open on July 18th in association with the 60th Yeats International Summer School and will also show at the Irish Consulate Offices in New York during the general assembly of the United Nations in October.
We are delighted to announce that the years programme also includes an invited artists exhibition titled “St Brigids Day 1989”, involving the work of 90 women artists. This exhibition is themed on the poetry of the late Leland Bardwell. It is being organised to compliment an international celebration of women and creativity initiated by Ireland’s Embassy in the UK, and co-ordinated through Irish Embassies and diplomatic missions world wide. The exhibition will be shown at the EU Commission’s 12 Star Gallery in London, before going on to show in Berlin, Dublin and Sligo.
We hope to see your at the many exhibition openings and other events at Hamilton Gallery throughout the year.
